Position overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Campus & Community Officer to be the heart and soul of our campuses in Antwerp (primary focus) and Brussels. This role is pivotal in ensuring our campuses are not just places of learning but vibrant communities where every student feels valued, motivated, and engaged. The Campus & Community Officer will spearhead initiatives to enhance student life, manage and support student clubs and communities, and ensure our campuses are welcoming and lively spaces that foster a sense of belonging and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Campus Engagement & Events: Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events and activities tailored to our diverse student body, enhancing campus life and fostering community spirit. You are also in charge of local events and visits on the campuses.

  • Community & Club Support: Facilitating support for the student communities and clubs, promoting active participation across our campuses.

  • Student Motivation & Involvement: Develop strategies to encourage student involvement in campus life, ensuring a supportive atmosphere that encourages personal growth, community engagement, and academic excellence.

  • Campus Atmosphere: Oversee the day-to-day vibrancy of the campuses, implementing initiatives that create a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all students.

  • Feedback & Improvement: Regularly gather student feedback to continually assess and enhance the campus experience, addressing concerns and capitalizing on opportunities to improve.

  • Campus management : First point of contact for our students in Campus Antwerp, and for our landlords DPG Media and BeCentral for all practical and logistical aspects.

Jouw profiel

  • Pioneer and connector mindset, with an interest in having social impact through an alternative tech education.
  • Proven experience in community management, event planning, or a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport with a diverse range of students, staff, and community members.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and community building.
  • Autonomous and intrapreneur mindset, you like to create and test things.
  • Languages : Fluent in Dutch, with excellent verbal and written communication skills; and effective

    communication skills in English. Skills in French are a plus.
  • Good knowledge of the Antwerp ecosystem, is a plus
  • Na- of buitenschoolse activiteiten organiseren en opstarten (leerlingenraad, clubs, ...)
  • Lesgevers, personeel, leerlingen of studenten, ouders en instanties informeren over de visie en het functioneren van de onderwijsinstelling
  • De kwaliteit van het onderwijs bewaken
  • De nood aan personeel identificeren en personeel aanwerven (opvoeders, interim lesgevers, ...)
  • Projecten ontwikkelen: Sponsoring
  • Het onthaal en de opvang van leerlingen of studenten in de onderwijsinstelling organiseren (korte pauzes, studies, eetgelegenheid, internaat, ...)
  • Het machinepark en de gebouwen opvolgen
    Aankopen van uitrusting bepalen en werkzaamheden aan de infrastructuur vastleggen
  • Exposities, concerten, audities, uitwisselingen, … met externe deelnemers organiseren
  • Evenementen uitdenken en organiseren
  • De toepassing van de omgangsregels, de veiligheids- en hygiëneregels binnen de onderwijsinstelling controleren
    Sensibiliseringsacties opzetten en sancties nemen
