Medical Director


A leading global organisation in clinical research is seeking two Medical Directors specialised in Neurology to support an expanding portfolio of innovative neurology programmes. This position operates within a Functional Service Provider (FSP) model, where you are employed by the CRO but work fully within the sponsor’s global medical and safety teams. This opportunity is ideal for physicians who want to apply their clinical expertise outside traditional practice and play a key role in the safety evaluation and scientific oversight of neurology therapies. Key Responsibilities Patient Safety & Medical Oversight (Majority of the Role) - Act as the therapeutic expert for neurology studies. - Provide medical monitoring across clinical trials, reviewing eligibility, clinical decisions, and investigator queries. - Review Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) and evaluate the medical significance of safety data. - Support the identification and assessment of emerging safety signals. - Provide medical input into safety documentation, regulatory submissions, and clinical study reports. Scientific & Strategic Support - Offer clinical insight during protocol discussions, feasibility assessments, and programme planning meetings. - Participate in sponsor and internal meetings where medical guidance shapes clinical decision‑making. Administrative & Professional Responsibilities - Maintain required medical licensure and mandatory training. - Support compliance, process improvements, and team knowledge‑sharing. - Contribute to routine operational activities as part of the broader medical function. Requirements - Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with an active licence to practise in your country of residence. - Several years of experience within clinical trials, clinical development, pharmacovigilance, medical monitoring, or as a Principal Investigator. - Strong understanding of clinical research regulations and safety reporting expectations. - Ability to interpret complex medical and safety data and provide sound medical judgement. - Excellent communication skills and the confidence to collaborate with cross‑functional teams. - Experience in neurology (clinical or research) is highly advantageous.
