Job Description
The Windows Active Directory Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of our organization's Active Directory environment. This involves cleaning, improving, and optimizing the directory to ensure safety, consistency, and efficiency.
- Active Directory cleaning and optimization
- Identify and remove stale accounts, groups, and objects
- Improving the structure and naming conventions
- Validation and follow-up via PowerShell
- Developing and executing PowerShell scripts for monitoring and reporting
- Automate recurring checks (e.g., inactive users, entitlement management)
- Maintenance of group policy objects (GPOs): mapping existing GPO links and their impact
- Documenting and following up on changes
- Ensuring policies remain compliant with security guidelines
- Checking access rights and delegations
- Implementing best practices around AD security
- Reporting risks and recommendations to IT management
- Close collaboration with IT management, security officers, and project teams
- Clear documentation and reporting of actions carried out
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor or master in IT or equivalent
- More than 5 years of experience related to AD management
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory
- Experience with PowerShell scripting (validation, reporting, automation)
- Understanding Group Policy Objects and their links
- Knowledge of security best practices within AD environments
- Fluent in English & French OR Dutch
