Business Analyst - API/Microservices

Context :

The organisation is seeking a trilingual Business Analyst with hands-on experience in microservices and API-driven ecosystems .

You will work in an Agile/Scrum team , collaborating closely with business stakeholders, product owners, ICT coordinators, and enterprise architects to support the evolution of mission-critical tools.

Role & Responsibilities :

Functional Analysis & User Stories

• Analyse assigned tools and translate business needs into clear, structured user stories
• Collaborate with key users to refine requirements and understand operational impacts

Process Adaptation & Implementation Follow-up

• Analyse business process changes introduced by new tools or versions
• Follow up on implementation in close collaboration with the Product Owner / Project Lead and ICT coordinator

Microservices & API Contributions

• Maintain and update functional and business artefacts, including: Information models, User stories, Process flows
• Contribute to the evolution and integration of multiple tools based on microservices and API chains
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and other analysts to ensure alignment with the overall roadmap and future IT landscape
• Proactively propose roadmap improvements based on business insights

Cross-team Collaboration

• Strengthen functional and process integration across multiple tools and microservices
• Work closely with analysts from parallel projects to ensure coherent and integrated toolchains

Quality, Security & Compliance

• Operate in a highly regulated environment governed by strict standards, including: ISO 9001 (Quality), EN 50.128 (Railway signalling), ISO 27001 / NIS (Security)
• Ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance of all documentation

Technical Skills & Requirements

Languages : Trilingual (Fluent Dutch, Fluent English with B2 in French)

Core Competencies

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Business Analyst
• Minimum 2 years experience in Functional Analysis
• Experience with:
• Jira, Confluence, Miro
• Figma
• Balsamiq (at least one project)
• Enterprise Architect (at least one project)

Knowledge of:

• BPMN, UML
• APIs, data flows, Swagger (at least one project)
• Java / Angular / microservices environments (as an analyst)
• Understanding of EN 50.128 and ISO 9001 standards
• Business Analysis certification (or equivalent) is a plus
