Head (m/f/d) European Policy / Investment / Sustainable Finance


The German Property Federation (ZIA) is the leading association for the real estate industry. Through its members, including over 30 associations, it represents around 37,000 companies in the industry along the entire value chain. The ZIA provides the real estate industry in all its diversity with comprehensive and uniform representation of interests that reflects its importance to the national economy. As an association of entrepreneurs and associations, it gives the entire real estate industry a voice at national and European level – and in the Federation of German Industries (BDI). We are currently seeking for our Brussels Office a Head (m/f/d) European Policy / Investment / Sustainable Finance Anticipating and taking action on European issues relevant to financial regulation and real estate, developing and implementing advocacy strategies in coordination with the Berlin office Representing the interests of the real estate industry across the board on behalf of the ZIA umbrella organisation vis-à-vis European institutions (COM, EP, EC, ESAs, ECB) and the public Representing the interests of the real estate industry in financial /product regulatory issues vis-à-vis the German federal government and German institutions (BaFin, Bundesbank) Leading a team of specialists in Brussels and Berlin Expansion and targeted use of our network for meetings with European stakeholders, including for members of the ZIA Executive Board and management, including preparation and follow-up Regular reporting and coordination with ZIA management Initiation of internal and external events (receptions, dialogues, committee meetings, etc.) Interface with European umbrella and cooperation associations and the Brussels offices of relevant German associations. Academic degree (Master's/LL.M.) in law, politics, economics or finance, ideally with a focus on the EU (European studies, European law). Several years of professional experience in an EU context, preferably in EU institutions or business associations. In-depth knowledge of the European legislative process, delegated/implementing acts and Level 3 administrative practice. In-depth knowledge of financial market regulation, in particular sustainable finance regulation. Knowledge of other policy areas such as energy and climate policy, digitalisation, etc. Reliable network in EU institutions and associations Intercultural competence and excellent communication skills Confident manner, high resilience and willingness to travel regularly. Native German language skills, business fluent English, French language skills are an advantage.
