Financial Controller - Build a Department from Scratch


Want to control finances for a rapidly growing pan-European renewable energy developer accelerating the energy transition across the continent ?

Join a leading Independent Power Producer as Financial Controller in Brussels, where you'll support finance operations for a company managing a diversified pipeline of 11+ GW across onshore wind, solar, and battery storage projects in multiple European countries, working with an international team representing 10+ nationalities.

Key responsibilities as Financial Controller

  • Manage financial reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations: AR, AP, general ledger management, balance sheet control, and reconciliations for Belgian entities
  • Prepare statutory financial accounting and reporting for all operating entities/SPVs in the Belgium-managed group
  • Conduct treasury activities and prepare monthly cash flow reporting for the group, managing payments
  • Manage VAT returns with knowledge of Belgian fiscal authorities
  • Review transfer pricing calculations and manage intercompany payables and receivables
  • Assist the Global Controllership team with developing robust internal controls, focusing on efficiency enhancements

You have a strong accounting foundation combined with analytical skills and a business-oriented mindset. You work independently, thrive under pressure and challenging deadlines, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels in a fast-paced international environment.

What you bring as Financial Controller

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Accountancy
  • 4+ years of experience in Accounting & Controlling
  • Fluent in French, conversational Dutch is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus)
