Information Technology Project Manager

Twenty8 is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support one of our key clients, a prominent European Union institution, in managing medium to large-scale IT and information system projects. This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful digital transformation initiatives within the EU public sector.

The consultant will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget, and in alignment with strategic business needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage medium to large projects related to the implementation of new information systems.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring continuous alignment with business needs and adherence to change control processes.
• Define project strategies and plans, and monitor their implementation.
• Estimate costs, resource requirements, and project timelines.
• Lead functional working groups and participate in progress meetings.
• Track project activities, produce regular reports, and maintain quality and risk management plans.
• Provide effective leadership and guidance to project teams.
• Review and validate project deliverables and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications

• Education: University degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in similar roles
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMI, PRINCE2, PM², Agile, etc.).
• Practical experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean Software Development.
• Proficiency in project management and tracking tools: MS Project, Jira, GitHub Enterprise, Atlassian tools, and ServiceNow.
• Solid technical understanding of software projects and development lifecycles.
• Familiarity with business modeling tools and languages (UML, BPMN).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Certifications (at least one required)

• PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
• COBIT 5 Certification
• PM² or PM² Agile Certification

Work Setup:

This role is based in Belgium, with a hybrid arrangement requiring 3 days onsite. Remote work from other countries is not permitted.
