Your responsibilities

  • Achieve Commercial Excellence: Set and surpass ambitious revenue targets by expanding the customer portfolio across West & Central Africa.
  • Lead Strategic Transactions: Coordinate high-value deals in specialty chemicals, ensuring seamless execution for clients and partners worldwide.
  • Pioneer Market Growth: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends and unlock new opportunities in a dynamic region, shaping Transmare’s regional strategy.
  • Build Global Networks: Cultivate and nurture long-term relationships with key players, leveraging 4-6 weeks of annual business trips to strengthen ties across diverse cultures.
  • Drive Innovation: Unleash cross-selling potential and knowledge-sharing with other business units to boost team performance and profitability.
  • Master Technical Expertise: Deepen your understanding of specialty chemicals, mastering formulation advice to empower clients – trained by Transmare and our top suppliers.
  • Manage Financial Success: Take full ownership of your P&L, optimizing costs and maximizing profits with a sharp eye on financial performance.
  • Mitigate Risks: Proactively identify and address trading risks, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Deliver Insights: Provide regular reports and market intelligence to leadership, influencing strategic decisions.
  • Compliance and regulation: Ensure compliance with all relevant trade regulations and company policies.
  • Reporting: Regularly reporting trading results and market insights to management.
  • Guide the Team: After building your expertise, mentor junior traders, nurturing their growth and aligning their efforts with organizational goals.


Your profile

  • Passion & Experience: A driven professional with a passion for trade and market development, backed by 3-5 years of proven experience in negotiation, analysis, and relationship-building.
  • Skills & Traits: Equipped with excellent communication, strong organizational and time-management skills, and sharp analytical thinking. You thrive as a proactive, resilient, and collaborative team player with a practical, hands-on mindset, bringing energy and innovative solutions to every opportunity.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in a relevant field such as international trade, business or economics.
  • Language skills: Fluent in Dutch, English and French; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
