Data Engineer

Timefold is a commercial open source software startup in the very relevant domain of planning optimization. Planning problems are everywhere. From school timetabling to scheduling massive fleets of vehicles, the central question remains the same: how can we use our resources more efficiently? Less wasteful. The Timefold AI solver is the most powerful answer to those real-world problems.

While the technology is already being used world-wide by thousands of users (under its current project name), Timefold is a newly set-up startup company by the project creator and an experienced tech entrepreneur. We are backed by a prominent early-stage VC and are very ambitious in building Timefold into a leading AI company for operational industries.

We see the following as essential requirements for this position:

• Experience in data lake and data pipeline building
• Strong coding skills in Python or Java for data processing tasks
• Solid understanding of data analysis and machine learning
• Good understanding of relational (SQL) and non-relational databases (e.g. MongoDB)
• Knowledge of integrating GenAI
• Product-focused mentality
• Experience with cloud services is a plus
• Experience with data governance is a plus
• Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
• You demonstrate a natural drive to keep growing and learning in your field
• You are easy to work with and appreciate a high autonomy
