The Puerto Rican Arts Initiative (PRAI) is a curatorial platform created to support and promote performance and ephemeral arts in Puerto Rico. This position is based in Puerto Rico to manage operations on-site. This is a part-time, fixed term position scheduled to end February 28, 2027. Purpose Serve as the primary point of communication for the administrative affairs of the project in Puerto Rico, including institutional collaborators, press, and individual artists. Responsibilities Operations Management: Manage on-the ground curatorial and operations support staff for Puerto Rico Arts Initiative. This includes ensuring individual staff task delivery is on schedule. Manage master calendar of project activities and coordinate with curatorial and operations staff on appropriate marketing and documentation campaigns. Contract and Payment Coordination: Coordinate contracting and payments for all micro-residency projects. As needed, process contracting and payments in UT Austin accounting systems. Coordinate negotiations with fiscal sponsors, contracting, and payments for all commissions. Budget Tracking: Maintain the project's budget and collaborate with the College of Fine Arts administrative staff and the dean on needed reporting to funding agencies. Travel and Local Arrangements: Coordinate travel for project participants. Serve as the lead organizer and guide on local arrangements for performances, exhibitions, and other public events organized by and for the project with support from the curatorial and support staff. Production Staff Fellows: Contract and supervise production staff fellows with support from the curatorial and UT operations staff Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and minimum 3 years' experience in coordinating or managing a project. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Outlook, Word). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on strict timelines. Residency in Puerto Rico. Must be able to travel to Austin or other programming sites as needed (the project will cover these expenses when required). Bilingual (English and Spanish fluency).
