Freelance - ESG expert

For one of our clients, we are looking for a freelance ESG expert.

Teals Consulting is a Belgian consulting company active in Financial Services, Energy, Manufacturing and Retail sectors.

Key activities

• Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of the ESG strategy across all departments and subsidiaries.
• Identify ESG-related risks and opportunities and make recommendations.
• Implement the ESG strategy through clear policies and action plans. Provide trainings to internal teams.
• Assess the ESG performance before and during investment cycles.
• Align with evolving regulation and best practices to update the ESG reporting framework. Coordinate the preparation of the annual ESG report for management approval.
• Ensure continuous monitoring of new ESG regulations and standards, such as CSRD, SFDR, GRI and EU Taxonomy.

Required qualifications

Technical skills: Proven experience in ESG management and reporting tools. Excellent analytical and synthesis capabilities. Good understanding of regulatory frameworks and sustainability standards such as CSRD, SFDR, GRI, and EU Taxonomy. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and document management systems like Greenomy, Karomia, Odoo, and DiliTrust.

Languages skills: fluent in English and in French and / or Dutch.

Experience: Master in Law / Economics / Sustainability / Management / Green Finance/ or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in roles focused on ESG regulations and best practices, preferably in the financial sector.

Period: beginning mid-November 2025 (a 1-year mission)
