Project Cost Controller

Summary:

Our client, a leading multinational healthcare and pharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to support ongoing and upcoming capital projects across their Belgian sites in Beerse, Geel, and Gent. This position would suit candidates based in Belgium or the Netherlands, with fluency in Dutch and good professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, monitor, and update project cash flow forecasts in alignment with project schedules and milestones.
• Prepare regular cost reports, track project expenditures, and compare actual costs to approved budgets. Identify and report on cost variances and trends.
• Assist in the procurement process for trade and vendor packages, including tender analysis, commercial evaluation, and comparison against project budgets.
• Support the project team with commercial and financial aspects of contracts. Understand contract terms and conditions to ensure alignment with project cost management processes.
• Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and finance to provide timely and accurate cost information. Support project reviews and reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Monitor and track changes to project scope, schedule, and costs. Ensure that all approved changes are reflected in forecasts and budgets.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant Degree.
• 6+ years working experience in cost control, project finance, or project controls roles, ideally within a construction, engineering, or pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong knowledge of cash flow forecasting, cost reporting, and budget management.
• Experience supporting procurement processes and familiarity with tender evaluation.
• Good understanding of contractual terms, commercial aspects, and change management.
• Fluency in Dutch is essential. Good proficiency in English is also required.
• Proficiency in standard cost control tools and software (Excel, SAP, or similar project management/cost control systems).
• Flexible to travel occasionally to project sites in Beerse, Geel and Gent.
