Are you an experienced professional in the process industry with a passion for safety and risk management? Would you like to help shape a new service offering within TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium? Then we’d love to welcome you to our team.
As a Process Safety Engineer, you play a key role in conducting, facilitating, and analysing process safety studies for our clients. You will contribute to the further development of our expertise in Belgium, working closely with our international colleagues.
Your tasks:
- Lead and facilitate HAZOP and LOPA studies to identify and mitigate risks in industrial processes.
- Perform in-depth risk analyses (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA) and provide actionable recommendations.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary team sessions, encouraging open dialogue, brainstorming, and collaboration.
- Maintain the balance between depth and progress during studies, and ensure clear and accurate documentation.
- Identify deviations in process parameters and develop preventive and mitigating measures.
- Support the sales team by identifying commercial opportunities and contributing to proposals.
- Help build a new service line in process safety within TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium, in close collaboration with our competence center in Austria.
Who are you
- You hold a Master’s degree in engineering (e.g., industrial or civil engineering) or equivalent experience.
- You have several years of experience conducting process safety studies in the (petro)chemical or related industries.
- You are well-versed in HAZOP/LOPA methodologies and/or other risk assessment techniques.
- You have excellent communication skills and can confidently lead and moderate group discussions.
- You are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented.
- You speak fluent Dutch and English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of French is an asset.
