Junior Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented person to assist in our Finance & Administration team, starting January 2026 at latest.

SolarPower Europe is a member-led association representing the European solar sector. SolarPower Europe’s aim is to ensure that more energy is generated by solar than any other energy source by 2023 and lead our members to make solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system. We are an award-winning association and have over 300 members spanning 35 countries. We aim to produce thought-leading energy market analysis and support the business of our members through creative and successful advocacy campaigns.

Are you a detail-driven and proactive individual looking to kickstart your career in finance? We’re hiring a Junior Accountant to support our dynamic Finance & Accounting team.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a broad range of financial operations, contribute to the digital transformation of our finance processes, and help strengthen our tax compliance framework. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Administration, and in strong partnership with our Accounting Officer, your job responsibilities will include:

• Lead day-to-day accounting tasks in compliance to accounting policies and procedures,
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes,
• Contribute to tax filings and ensure compliance with regulations,
• Support finance administration and VAT/legal compliance,
• Participate in finance process improvements and digital initiatives,
• Collaborate with our project teams for finance and budgeting on grants (including EU grants) and projects,
• Assist on financial reporting, cost accounting, tracking of KPI’s,
• Assist on preparing for our annual audit as well as grant audits,
• Assist on invoicing, credit control and debt management, and
• Other related tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate has the following professional profile:

• A degree in Accounting with specialisation in Tax;
• Excellent knowledge of Belgian accounting principles and tax regulations;
• Strong analytical and organisational skills;
• A keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset;
• Familiarity with accounting software and digital tools;
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative team;
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
• Excellent communication skills in French and English, Dutch is a plus.
