System Engineer

We're hiring a System Engineer to join the Generic Build Team at a leading financial services organisation.

This role is onsite 50% in Leuven, with a contract running until the end of the year and annual rolling extensions.

Fluent English and Dutch speakers are required.

👥 About the Team

Our Generic Build Team manages all tools within the ALM Suite – including Confluence, Jenkins, and BitBucket – and supports the full Continuous Delivery Pipeline (Continuous Exploration, Integration & Deployment).

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Tool Management: Maintain and upgrade Jenkins, Bitbucket, Sonar, Nexus, Maven, and more
• Innovation: Investigate upgrades, new plug-ins, and features
• Support: Provide 3rd-line support, consultancy, and incident resolution
• Alignment: Understand client needs and propose solutions
• Decommissioning: Lead cleanup of legacy tools across the organisation

You’re not just a user – you’re passionate about managing and optimising DevOps tools.

Technical Requirements

• Proven experience managing Jenkins, Bitbucket, Sonar, Nexus, Maven
• Deep knowledge of Atlassian Jira & Confluence
• Scripting in Python and Typescript (Perl is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows application servers
• Ability to assess, streamline, and retire outdated tools
