Travel: ~70–80% across Europe + occasional US trips
Salary: Up to €50,000

The role

A global lab automation company is hiring a European Systems Technician to build, install and commission robotic laboratory systems at customer sites across Europe.

This is a hands-on, field-based role, ideal for someone with an electro-mechanical, HVAC, automation, or service technician background who wants to move into robotics and life-science automation.

You'll work on system builds, travel to customer sites for installation, and support commissioning alongside experienced engineers and technicians.

What you'll be doing
  • Assembling electro-mechanical systems from drawings and schematics

  • Installing and commissioning robotic and automated lab equipment

  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues (AC / DC)

  • Using software tools to calibrate and configure systems

  • Working on customer sites across Europe (and occasional US travel)

  • Completing build and installation documentation

  • Collaborating closely with other system technicians and engineers

What they're looking for
  • 1–3+ years' experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, automation or service roles

  • Comfortable working hands-on with tools, wiring, and assemblies

  • Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings

  • Happy with frequent European travel and time away from home

  • Confident communicating in English in a professional environment

  • Curious, reliable, and keen to learn new technologies

Nice to have (not essential):

  • Automation, robotics or controls exposure

  • Commissioning or field service experience

  • German language skills

Why this role is different
  • You'll work on real robotic systems, not just maintenance calls

  • Heavy travel = rapid skills growth and experience

  • Entry-to-mid level role with strong long-term progression

  • Ideal stepping-stone into advanced automation, robotics or systems engineering

Practical requirements
  • EU right to work

  • Valid passport and driving licence

  • Comfortable lifting equipment (up to ~25kg) and working in confined spaces
