Marketing & Communications Manager

Sabam is undergoing a significant transformation. Historically perceived as a strict enforcer of copyright rules, the organization is repositioning itself as a modern, accessible, and customer-focused partner. The shift moves away from a compliance-driven approach toward one centered on supporting, guiding, and empowering creators and users as valued clients and collaborators.


As Marketing & Communications Manager, you will lead this strategic repositioning by modernizing communication and marketing strategies, simplifying a complex service portfolio, and strengthening Sabam’s market presence. Your work will be crucial in reshaping Sabam’s public image—transforming it from a regulatory authority into a proactive enabler that adds real value for its stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

  • Modernize communication and marketing strategies, simplify a complex service offering, and strengthen Sabam’s market presence.
  • Ensure that users are no longer seen as mere rule followers, but as valued clients and partners who are supported and guided.
  • Lead a dedicated communications team responsible for clear messaging, transparent communication, and a consistent brand identity.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments such as sales, product development, and IT to deliver a unified and impactful message.
  • Manage all internal and external communications—including press releases, newsletters, and social media—and ensure Sabam’s vision and values are communicated effectively.
  • Analyze campaign performance and market trends, providing data-driven recommendations to continuously improve and differentiate Sabam in a competitive market.


The ideal candidate has:

  • Approximately 10 years of experience in marketing and communications roles
  • Experience in a B2B service context
  • Proven track record in leading and driving organizational transformation
  • Expertise in developing and executing marketing and communication plans aligned with company strategy
  • Strong skills in online marketing and social media management
  • Experience in leading and coaching a small team
  • Experience with public relations (PR)
  • Affinity for or interest in both Flemish and Walloon culture
