Field Service Engineer – Marine Engines

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Field Service Engineer (4-stroke) to strengthen our international service team in Antwerp!
In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced marine engines. You will contribute directly to the performance of our customers’ vessels and play a key role in the success of our global service operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair work on 2-stroke and 4-stroke marine engines.
- Lead service technicians during overhauls, commissioning, performance testing, and root cause analyses.
- Diagnose and resolve faults, both planned and unplanned.
- Conduct preventive measurements (e.g. vibration analysis) and follow up maintenance accordingly.
- Carry out installation, commissioning, and service activities on-site worldwide.
- Prepare service reports, perform analysis, and provide improvement recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards.
- Identify and manage spare parts required for maintenance and repairs.
Your Profile
- Degree in a relevant field such as:
- Maritime Officer (Bachelor Nautical Sciences or equivalent)
- Marine Engineering (AP University of Applied Sciences Antwerp / Maritime Academy)
- Industrial Engineering Electromechanics
- Professional Bachelor Electromechanics – Marine Engines / Maritime Techniques
- Bachelor or Associate Degree in Mechanics / Maintenance Technologies
- Or equivalent hands-on experience as a marine engineer or engine mechanic on board vessels.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in marine engine maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
- Knowledge of electronic and pneumatic systems is a strong advantage.
- Independent, reliable, and a true team player.
- Stress-resistant with both technical and commercial awareness.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Travel-minded: willing to travel frequently and sometimes on short notice. Projects typically last ~6 weeks abroad, working 7 days a week, followed by extended time off in Belgium.
- Based in the Antwerp region and in possession of own transportation.
- Must hold an EU work permit/passport.
