About the Role

We're seeking a Senior IT Functional Analyst (Freelance) to join our client's mission-driven team in Brussels for a 5-month project. What You'll Be Doing

• Collaborating within an interfunctional Agile team to design and develop robust applications that address evolving customer needs
• Defining functional requirements and proposing innovative, feasible solutions, clearly evaluating pros and cons
• Translating chosen solutions into detailed designs aligned with architectural guidelines and sharing insights with your team
• Providing ongoing clarification and support to developers throughout the build process
• Contributing to the creation and execution of comprehensive test cases to ensure quality and compliance
• Maintaining clear, concise documentation to support implementation and future enhancements
• Supporting the team during implementation and post-implementation phases, ensuring smooth transitions and optimal outcomes

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience (minimum 5 years) as a Functional Analyst in complex, high-impact environments
• Results-oriented, solution-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
• Strong ownership, independence, and the courage to challenge assumptions and drive change
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly build connections within teams
• Deep understanding and embodiment of Scrum values: commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt messaging to diverse audiences
• Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and is eager to share knowledge and ideas

Technical Skills

• Practical experience with API design and integration
• Hands-on expertise in Java-based distributed applications
• Familiarity with Mainframe programs and SQL queries
• Strong background in data management and software lifecycle management
• Experience with software testing and testing tools

Language Proficiency

• Excellent command of English (required)
• Knowledge of French or Dutch is a strong asset

Other Requirements

• Agile/Scrum methodology is second nature to you
• Availability for 50% onsite work in Brussels
• This is a freelance position for a 5-month project
