About the Role

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect Expert (Freelance) to join our client's mission-critical initiative in Brussels. This is a unique opportunity to elevate the maturity of Enterprise Architecture tools within a leading IT environment. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of architecture practices, driving the adoption and optimization of Sparx EA and other industry-leading tools. Your expertise will directly influence the rollout of transformative solutions across the entire IT department.

Our client is currently conducting a Proposal of Operational Operation (POC) to assess and enhance their Enterprise Architecture capabilities. Your work will determine best practices, set new standards, and lay the foundation for a department-wide deployment of advanced architecture tools. The impact? Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the current Proposal of Operational Operation (POC) and provide expert analysis on existing Enterprise Architecture practices.
• Develop and document best practices for the effective use of Sparx EA and, ideally, other leading architecture tools.
• Configure and optimize Enterprise Architecture tools to align with organizational needs and future scalability.
• Design and describe additional architectures within the tool, ensuring consistency and alignment with established methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and adoption of new architecture standards.
• Champion a builder-driven approach, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise in Enterprise Architecture, with a strong track record of successful tool implementation and optimization.
• Deep hands-on experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect (Sparx EA) — configuration, customization, and best practices.
• Expert-level proficiency in TOGAF, UML, and BPMN frameworks and methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate, design, and document complex architectures in enterprise environments.
• Experience with additional Enterprise Architecture tools is highly valued.

Language Proficiency

• Dutch: Active knowledge required
• French: Active knowledge required
• English: Passive knowledge required

Other Requirements

• This is a freelance position with a 5-month project duration, based in Brussels (hybrid work regime possible).
• Part-time engagement preferred (negotiable based on availability and expertise).
• Immediate availability is a plus.
