About Policy Hub

Policy Hub – Circularity for Apparel & Footwear brings together apparel and footwear industry stakeholders of the global textile sector to coordinate and align on EU policy proposals to accelerate circular practices. We work to ensure the textile sector’s transition toward sustainability and circularity is underpinned by effective, coherent, and implementable EU policies.

The Policy Hub unites over 700 stakeholders from the apparel and footwear sectors, including brands, retailers, manufacturers, service providers, and other key stakeholders in the textile value chain.

We leverage the technical expertise and insights of our members, supported by our Founding Partners—Cascale, Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), and the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI)—alongside our Advisory Group, which includes Textile Exchange, Fashion for Good, the Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP), the Fair Labor Association (FLA), the Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA) and Better Cotton.

Job Description

We are looking for a Policy Officer with 2 to 4 years of experience in EU public affairs, ideally with a focus on sustainability and circular economy policies. The role will support our Policy Hub team in monitoring and analysing developments in the different legislative instruments and discussions, as well as engaging on regulatory developments that impact the sustainability and circularity of the textile sector. This includes actively participating in technical discussions with stakeholders from across the textile value chain — from raw material producers to end-of-life actors — to understand and reflect the practical realities, implementation challenges, and technical specificities of each stage of the chain. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring that policy positions are grounded in operational knowledge and informed by the on-the-ground expertise of diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse EU legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the textile sector (such as ESPR, WFD, Textiles Labelling, GCD, ECGT, and related frameworks).
  • Support the preparation of internal analysis, policy briefings, and strategic positioning on files.
  • Contribute to engagement activities with EU institutions, stakeholders, and policymakers.
  • Liaise with actors from the global textile value chain (companies, NGOs, platforms, etc.) to ensure inclusive dialogue and coherent messaging.
  • Draft memos, talking points, summaries of technical documents and stakeholder discussions.
  • Support the organisation and content development of webinars, stakeholder roundtables, and strategic meetings.
  • Assist in producing clear and concise presentations for internal and external use.
  • Support the team in the organisation of events for Policy Hub members but also external events.

Requirements

  • University degree in Law, European Affairs, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in EU public affairs or policy roles.
  • Strong knowledge of EU institutions and the policymaking process.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and circular economy issues, preferably in the context of the textile and apparel sector.
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
  • Strong public speaking and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  •  Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential; other languages are an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and the ability to create impactful presentations.
  •  Ability to synthesise technical content into accessible and actionable formats.
  • Strong motivation and passion for sustainability, policy, and the future of the textile sector.
  • Based in Brussels, with occasional travel

What We Offer

  • A 1-year full-time contract with the possibility of extension to a permanent contract.
  • A dynamic and purpose-driven team operating at the intersection of industry transformation and policymaking.
  • An opportunity to directly contribute to shaping policies that impact the circular future of the textile sector.
  • A flexible, multicultural, and inclusive work environment in Brussels.
