Peliqan is an all-in-one cloud data platform with ELT pipelines, built-in data warehouse, Reverse ETL, data apps and AI, in multiple regions, hosted on AWS. We are a fast-growing scale-up, on a mission to reinvent how companies work with data. We currently have offices in Ghent, Belgium and in Bengaluru, India.

For our office in Ghent, Belgium, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with developers and other DevOps engineers on the day-to-day operation, monitoring and improvement of our platform.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in cloud and infrastructure technologies, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AWS. You are familiar with Docker and Helm and are comfortable scripting and automating tasks using Python and Bash. You have a basic understanding of infrastructure fundamentals and are eager to grow your skills in operating production systems, monitoring and alerting, and infrastructure as code practices.

• Support the scalability, availability and performance of our platform as usage grows
• Help maintain and improve production environments, collaborating with developers to implement fixes and improvements
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems to ensure availability and reliability of applications and infrastructure
• Monitor systems, proactively resolve issues, troubleshoot incidents and participate in an on-call rotation
• Implement security best practices across infrastructure, networking and access management
• Document processes and improvements to support reliable and repeatable operations
  

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
• Good understanding of cloud platforms and services (AWS, GCP and/or Azure)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python and Bash
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, IP networking, firewalls, load balancers) and application concepts such as APIs and OAuth
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging and alerting concepts (e.g Prometheus, ELK stack, OpenTelemetry)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible is a plus
• Experience working with data infrastructure (e.g Trino, Celery) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• You are motivated, pro-active, detail-oriented, analytical thinker and you have a strong eagerness to grow in a DevOps role
