Electricity Sourcing Manager - Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)

Great opportunity to work as an Electricity Sourcing Manager (PPAs) for an International Base Chemicals Company, covering both renewable and conventional electricity sourcing, taking full ownership of end-to-end electricity procurement activities.

In this high-energy, international role at Group level, you’ll be at the forefront of my client's electricity sourcing strategy, securing long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and managing all aspects of their electricity procurement across Europe.

Based in Mechelen, you’ll have the opportunity to travel across Europe, building partnerships and leading the charge toward a more sustainable electricity portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electricity sourcing strategy – Scout, negotiate, and secure long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for renewable electricity, while also managing procurement for conventional electricity sources, ensuring a balanced and strategic approach.
  • Own the contracts – Take full responsibility for negotiating and finalizing legal agreements, collaborating closely with internal teams such as legal, credit, power trading, and public affairs.
  • Build strategic partnerships – Grow an extensive external network in the European electricity sector, staying ahead of market trends and sourcing the best opportunities.
  • Drive sustainability beyond PPAs – Support additional initiatives like utility integration, carbon reduction, and carbon capture projects, making an even bigger impact.
  • Be our energy market expert – Stay on top of industry developments, identify strategic opportunities, and bring fresh insights to drive our sustainability agenda forward.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Economics, Law, or Engineering, with a strong commercial, energy, or financial focus.
  • 5+ years of experience in European electricity procurement and contracting. Experience in negotiating and closing PPAs is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of European power markets (especially Central, Western, and Nordic regions) and a strong grasp of renewable and conventional energy sourcing strategies.
  • A knack for translating complex legal and commercial issues into clear, structured contract clauses.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English. Additional languages (such as German, Dutch, Swedish, or Finnish) are a bonus.
