Business Controller
Location: Avenue du Bourget 3, 1140
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the business and financial operations of the B2B Business Unit. You will manage the organisation's budget, track revenues and/or expenses and ensure that the domain you will be in charge of is managed consistently with the overall profitability ambition of the company. You will also help to shape the overall strategy of the organisation by contributing ideas/recommendations to operational business owners.
Your responsibilities:
- Create budgets: prepare annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with business leadership and analyse the various outlooks
- Develop processes: create and implement financial planning and budgeting procedures supporting the organisation's goals and objectives.
- Manage the closing process: oversee the activities of the accounting department, supervise account reconciliation and lead the month-end closing of accounts
- Analyse financial data: analyse reports that the accounting system generate and other data to identify trends, issues, risks and opportunities for improvement. Use this data to evaluate the organisation's financial performance
- Communicate findings to management: report analyses of business and findings on major financial issues that may impact the organisation's performance. Provide insightful analysis of financial data, to support decision-making processes to implement adjustments to achieve business objectives
- Improve operational processes and controls: analyse business processes, identify process improvements and develop cost-saving controls to improve efficiency in the use of resources. Control the implementation of improvement processes.
- Ensure compliance: manage policies and implement controls to ensure adherence to regulations concerning financial reporting and disclosures
Your profile:
- Strong financial background (incl. understanding of accounting and treasury)
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar position
- Financial analysis skills: analyse data to forecast company revenue, assess profit margins, identify areas for improvement and manage large amounts of financial data efficiently
- Good understanding on Financial Systems: Know how on accounting tools (ERP systems, reporting systems)
- Strategic planning skills to understand the long-term financial implications of business decisions
- Communication skills to effectively convey important financial information and instructions to those without a financial background in a way that's easy to understand
- Ability to drive change and to always improve team performance and evolution
- Fluency in French and English, good understanding of Dutch
