Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer proficient in EPLAN Electric P8 to support high-profile projects in the Belgian nuclear sector. You will play a vital role in designing and validating electrical systems for safety-critical installations at nuclear facilities, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the modernization and compliance of nuclear infrastructure in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and cable routing using EPLAN Electric P8
• Perform electrical calculations and load distribution studies using Caneco BT
• Develop technical documentation in compliance with Belgian and EU nuclear standards
• Coordinate with instrumentation, control systems, and civil engineering teams
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and safety studies
• Ensure alignment with IEC, AREI/RGIE, and ONR/ENSREG standards
• Support installation supervision, FAT/SAT, and commissioning where applicable

Required Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with EPLAN Electric P8
• Strong hands-on experience with Caneco BT for electrical design and validation
• Background in electrical design for nuclear, energy, or other high-integrity sectors
• Familiarity with Belgian regulations (AREI/RGIE) and EU nuclear directives
• Knowledge of safety classifications, redundancy principles, and interlock logic
• Ability to work in a multilingual, multicultural environment
• Eligible for Belgian or EU-level security clearance

Desirable:

• Knowledge of FANC regulations and site license requirements
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or other ECAD tools
• Engineering degree (Electrotechnical or similar)
