Facility Engineer Location: Sint-Niklaas, Belgium Reports to: Maintenance Manager Contract type: Permanent, Full time Your Role & Team in a Nutshell As Facility Engineer you will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance and improvement of building systems and infrastructure, ensuring a safe, compliant and sustainable facility. You will use a hands-on approach, technical expertise and project management skills to support facility operations at our Sint-Niklaas site in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and other team members. Your contributions will play a key in the operations of the facility while also identifying opportunities for energy savings and improvements. We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses. Your Key Responsibilities: Maintenance and Repair: oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC, fire-protection, electrical and air pressure systems; plumbing and other facility related infrastructure. Provide 3rd-line technical support for complex issues. Project Management: plan, coordinate and execute facility projects such as renovations, system upgrades, implementation, plant layout modifications, utilities for new equipment, etc. Training colleagues and actively participating in knowledge sharing. Compliance: ensure all facilities comply with local, state and federal regulations. Safety: implement and maintain safety protocols & emergency response plans. Vendor & Contractor Management: oversee and coordinate work performed by external service providers. Documentation & Administration: maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, compliance reports. You may occasionally need to work weekends or evenings. What You'll Need Minimum: Strong affinity with building technologies & utilities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) Experience in facility management software. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Strong communication skills and excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Initiative to continue learning. Ability to recognize patterns and identify underlying causes, relating to work.
