As E&I Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing and supervising the construction and contractor activities for your assigned discipline within a major gas plant environment. You will report to the Construction Manager / Project Manager and play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality execution of works on site.
Your Responsibilities
- Foster smooth collaboration with a mix of different people and disciplines on site, always maintaining a humble and polite attitude towards colleagues and the customer (Gassco).
- Ensure that all work strictly follows local regulations and official procedures — Safety is always the top priority.
- Execute all work according to the PIMS Engineering and Site Work Order system, used for planning, progress tracking and documentation.
- Ensure all site activities are governed by the Work Permit System, following strict on-site permitting procedures.
- Support the Engineering team in Norway by providing detailed information, photos, documentation and local know-how to help define the best installation methods (“Belgian way of doing”).
- Coordinate activities with other disciplines on site to ensure smooth execution.
- Report directly to the Site Manager.
- Receive training and system access to Wood and Gassco tools as part of the onboarding process.
Construction Responsibilities
- Manage and execute your assigned field discipline or subset of construction work in line with contractual requirements and company policies.
- Ensure that all work meets the quality standards and project specifications.
- Manage and control project cost and schedule for your discipline, including handling variations through proper commercial processes.
- Supervise installation, commissioning and completion activities.
- Monitor work progress and report against the plan accurately and timely.
- Ensure that safety, quality and environmental responsibilities are clearly communicated to all contractor personnel in your area.
- Verify that all contractor workers receive appropriate training, safety inductions and site-specific instructions.
- Oversee contractor toolbox meetings, inspections, and risk assessments in line with project requirements.
- Coordinate the supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables and accommodation as per client and contract specifications.
- Understand and manage industrial relations on site, reporting any issues proactively.
- Work with engineering during design phases to influence constructability and improve efficiency.
