Salary: €66,700 – €76,560 annum

Summary of Role
The Senior Accountant, plays a critical role in supporting NEF Belgium's financial and administrative operations. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely accounting records and supporting both internal and external audit processes. The role includes managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing salary allocations, ensuring compliance with donor regulations, and assisting with budgeting, payroll, and employee benefits. Additionally, the Senior Accountant serves as a key liaison for financial matters between NEF Belgium, local country offices, and external partners, contributing to the organization's strategic goals and operations. The Senior Accountant, will directly participate in a matrix structure, serving as a liaison to global colleagues and finance function team members.

Note: The focus of this position is on maintaining a strong accounting system as the backbone of a healthy financial management of the organisation and the projects it supports. External financial reports for Donor-funded projects will hence be prepared by a Finance Manager colleague from the global team. The vision is however for the NEF Belgium Senior Accountant to evolve into a Finance Manager or Director, when relevant.
