EU Public Affairs Traineeship – Brussels (Paid, 6 months)

. We advise clients on policy and regulation at the EU level, in EU Member States, and within international organizations. Our work covers public affairs & government relations, strategic communications, issue management, political risk advisory, and crisis communication, with policy focus areas including public health, sustainability, defence, energy, climate, and digital policy.
NC+ is offering a
6-month paid traineeship
in its
Brussels office
, running from
1 March 2026 to 31 August 2026
. The trainee will work with a diverse portfolio of clients and gain hands-on experience in EU public affairs.
Key responsibilities
- Researching and monitoring policy and legislative developments at EU, Member State, and international level
- Supporting the implementation of advocacy and outreach programmes and related ad-hoc tasks
- Preparing reports and briefing notes for clients
- Assisting in the organization of conferences and attending relevant EU-level events
- Providing support for new business proposals
Key requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of EU policy and EU decision-making processes
- Interest in EU policy areas such as public health, sustainability, defence, energy, and digital
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to summarise information clearly and concisely
- Ability to absorb new information quickly and work across multiple topics in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in an EU institution, public affairs consultancy, trade association, or other public institution is an advantage
- Full working proficiency in English and working knowledge of another official EU language
