Maintenance Technician - Food Manufacturing Sector

Our client in the Food Manufacturing sector is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join their technical team at a leading international production facility. This role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment where safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement are core priorities. The position reports directly to the Technical Team Leader (Maintenance Department).

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and maximum uptime of all machinery and production installations through proactive and reactive maintenance.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, including inspections, adjustments, lubrication, and replacement of parts.
• Identify and report potential issues before they result in breakdowns, enabling proactive resolution and reduced downtime.
• Record maintenance activities and technical findings in the company's maintenance management software (Ultimo or similar CMMS).
• Collaborate closely with production and technical teams to optimise maintenance workflows and machine performance.
• Support and oversee external contractors to ensure compliance, quality, and effective execution of work.
• Mentor junior technicians, apprentices, and new team members, contributing to technical development within the department.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment in line with company safety standards, food safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years' experience working as a Maintenance Technician, ideally within a manufacturing, FMCG, or food production environment.
• Proven experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Experience using computerised maintenance systems (e.g. Ultimo or similar).
• Ability to operate effectively in a 2-shift system.
• Fluent in English, willingness to learn Dutch.

Educational Requirements:

• Completed technical qualification (mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, or equivalent).
• Additional technical certifications or trade test qualifications will be advantageous.
• Strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
