Private Label Manager

Role & Responsibilities :

We are looking for a passionate and structured Private Label Manager to lead the creation, launch, and management of the Medi-Market Group's private label brand. This role will play a central part in defining needs, developing products, and monitoring performance.

Main duties :

Private Label Development :

  • Actively participate in the creation and definition of the Medi-Market private label brand.
  • Identify product needs in close collaboration with Category Managers to ensure alignment with each category's strategy.
  • Contribute to defining product specifications (quality, packaging, design) in line with company standards and customer expectations.

Market Study and Needs Analysis :

  • Analyze market trends across all countries where Medi-Market operates: monitor developments in the health, wellness, and retail sectors to identify emerging trends, new products, and innovations that meet consumer expectations.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking of both national and private label brands (positioning, pricing, quality, packaging) to identify differentiation opportunities and define a competitive strategy.

Supplier Management :

  • Identify, select, and establish partnerships with reliable suppliers.
  • Negotiate purchasing terms, prices, delivery schedules, and volumes to ensure product profitability.
  • Oversee supplier contracts and relationships to maintain strong, long-term collaborations.

Internal Coordination and Product Launch :

  • Collaborate with key departments (quality, legal, logistics, sales, marketing, pricing, space management) to ensure smooth and efficient product launches in Belgium and abroad.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop a strong communication strategy around the private label brand.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with Category Managers to prioritize needs and adapt products to market dynamics.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization :

  • Track the performance of private label products (sales, margins, turnover, customer feedback) and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Propose initiatives to enhance product visibility and sales both in-store and online.
  • Provide regular reporting to management on results achieved and opportunities identified.

Skills :

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Good understanding of product development processes (quality, regulations, logistics).
  • Proficiency in data analysis (sales, pricing, stock rotation) to support informed decision-makin
  • Excellent project management and cross-departmental coordination skills
  • Proactive, autonomous, and results-oriented approach.
  • Strong sense of priorities and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Profil :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management, Economics, or Marketing.
  • Proven experience (minimum 3–5 years) in private label management, product development, or a similar role, ideally within retail or the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
  • French-English
