Data Team Lead

YOUR CHALLENGES

We're looking for a motivated team lead to lead our in-house data team. You'll be responsible for overseeing the execution of data projects, from initial business requirements intake to the delivery of qualitative data products on time and within budget. Your ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders will be essential in this role. A data team lead plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technical data expertise and business objectives. Their responsibilities encompass a blend of technical leadership, project management, and strategic guidance.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

You hold a master's degree in relevant fields, such as Data Science, Business Analytics, or a similar qualification, or you have achieved this level through experience. Knowledge of MS Fabric and Power BI is required in combination with strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and translate complex business requirements into actionable insights. With your communication skills you have the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Experience within the logistics sector or the shipping industry is a plus! You are pragmatic and result driven. You are fluent in Dutch and English. You can easily settle into an environment where decisions are made quickly, where open communication prevails and where you draw energy from success.

• The data team operates with a focus on building data products that directly serve internal and external customers. Therefore a combination of project & product management skills are required.
• Aligning data product strategy with Manuport business users goals & needs
• Determining which features to develop based on user needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
• Developing a data product roadmap that outlines the product's development timeline.
• Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure data product success.
• MS Fabric & Power BI
• Expertise in Microsoft Fabric Platform with a focus on Power BI.
• Data Modelling
• Experience with designing normalized & dimensional data models.
• Knowledge of the medallion architecture for data extraction, conformation and curation.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are essential for interpreting complex data sets and identifying meaningful patterns and trends. This involves the ability to derive insights that contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Data Science or Business Analytics Background: A master's degree in relevant fields such as Data Science, Business Analytics, or a similar qualification is mentioned as a preference. Alternatively, equivalent experience in these areas is considered.
• Programming Languages
• hands-on experience with different data centric programming languages such as: SQL, Python, DAX, etc.
• Microsoft Azure Platform
• Knowledge of Azure Cloud Fundamentals is a plus.
