Montgomery International School is an international school based in Brussels, a few steps away from the European Institutions, NATO and the economic hub of the capital.
The school is accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization and welcomes children from 4.5 to 18 years old on 2 campuses very close to each other. MIS offers the prestigious IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes.

This position is designed to support the Operations Manager; the role will primarily involve assisting with operational tasks and projects (see below), but it will also include a variety of administrative and student duties. These may range from student supervision duties, to classroom cover and general administrative support. Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit are therefore essential.
In addition, during the absence of the Operations Manager, the Assistant will take responsibility for addressing infrastructure and building-related issues, either resolving minor problems directly or coordinating with external contractors to ensure timely solutions.
You may assist the Operations Manager with:
Building Management and Health and Safety:
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines for schools and ensure that the school health and safety policies are in line with current legislation.
- Set up, implement and adjust fire and other emergency procedures and contingency plans based on risk assessment.
- Communicate with relevant authorities regarding health, safety and security matters.
- Oversee and review school insurance plans
- Oversee security of campuses, develop, implement and adjust procedures
- Ensure all premises (incl classrooms & lab) and infrastructure are up to standards.
- Manage interior and exterior facilities and premises issues, maintenance, repairs and replacements.
- Coordinate and oversee larger renovation projects.
- Oversee cleaning company and take care of any cleaning requirements needed before their arrival.
- Responsible for opening and closing of school (this can also take place during weekends, evenings or holiday periods)
Soft Services:
- Manage the letting of school premises to external organisations.
- Manage classroom schedule and renting of external facilities
- Coordinate with Hot lunch supplier
- Coordinate school transportation
- Organise larger school trip logistics
- Procurement and distribution of school equipment and materials.
- Support with set up of venues and classrooms for school events and examinations.
- Support with moving of school resources or classroom equipment, when needed.
IT:
- IT first line support in-school and for external events. Coordinate IT support with our external consultant for larger matters.

Requirements:
- Strong French
- Workable English, but doesn't need to be perfectly fluent.
- Bachelor degree in relevant field (ICT, health and safety, facilities management, business management, etc) or relevant experience and skills.
- Qualifications in health and safety or willingness to be trained.
- Knowledge of the education industry is not necessary; we welcome people from any background.
- Due to the nature of the role, the ability to respond to alarms or infrastructure issues quickly is key.
Compensation:
- € gross monthly
