As we have ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a Museum Business Developer.
Who combines commercial acumen with a design or technical mindset, and will actively drive our global expansion, starting with our European home market
(other regions are not excluded in the future)
Key responsibilities:
Proactive lead generation & relationship building
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with museums, architects, designers, cultural institutions, and contractors.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships in Europe (and potentially other regions) in order to develop a robust project pipeline.
- Represent Meyvaert at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, expanding our network and brand visibility.
Project collaboration & preparation
- Work closely with technical advisors, tender -, and calculation teams to translate client needs into compelling proposals.
- Coordinate go/no-go procedures and project breakdown to ensure high-quality, profitable engagements.
Market & competitor analysis
- Monitor industry trends, emerging markets, and competitor activities in the museum and cultural sectors.
- Provide insights on new service and product offerings and strategic approaches based on market and client needs.
Client engagement & account management
- Serve as the primary contact for key clients and partners, ensuring excellent communication and satisfaction throughout the lead or tender phase.
- Initiate and follow-up contract negotiations with legal and finance teams to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Follow up on ongoing projects to maintain relationships, gather feedback, and identify repeat business.
Collaboration with cross-Functional Teams
- Work closely with Sales colleagues, Technical advisors, Engineering and Project Management teams to convert leads into successful bids through tenders and negotiations.
- Actively contribute to the overall growth strategy and innovation at Meyvaert.
Profile:
Qualifications and background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in an Architecture or Design-related field.
- Commercial by nature: a naturally born commercial attitude. A proven track record in business development or sales, ideally in a "hunter" role within a project-based, technical environment, is certainly a plus.
- Native-level Dutch with excellent spoken and written English skills. French or other languages are an added value
- Familiarity with the international design scene, is a strong advantage. Work experience with museums, cultural institutions, heritage, or exhibition sectors is desirable.
- The ability to communicate effectively with architects, designers, and technical teams.
