Communications & Events Trainee (Paid Internship)


 

PAID TRAINEESHIP: COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS TRAINEE

 

 

THE POSITION

MARCOGAZ is looking for a highly motivated, proactive and committed full-time Communications & Events Trainee. As the Communications & Events trainee, you will have the opportunity to put in place your knowledge and creativity on communications and business development that create impact and contribute to enhancing the visibility of MARCOGAZ and its members. You will be reporting to the Secretary General.


ABOUT MARCOGAZ

MARCOGAZ represents the interests of national and European gas associations as well as the individual gas companies’ members spread across Europe. Our association has evolved its reputation over the past five decades, working closely with the gas industry, official bodies within the European Union and other influential partners.

With the support of its technical groups of technical experts, MARCOGAZ works towards accelerating the energy transition and achieving the EU’s 2030 and 2050 climate goals. It is actively involved in concrete initiatives and programs to ensure the sustainable, safe and efficient development of natural gas and new gases including hydrogen and biomethane and the sector integration in Europe.


KEY TASKS:

  • Support the activities and agenda of the Secretary General.
  • Implement strategies to attract new members and retain the existing ones.
  • Enhance the liaisons with stakeholders and EU bodies.
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders and EU bodies relevant for the technical work of MARCOGAZ.
  • Update the website and intranet of MARCOGAZ (WordPress) and manage the social media.
  • Produce videos, audios and graphic materials and layout documents or publications.
  • Proofread documents produced by expert groups.
  • Prepare newsletters, produce articles and press releases and formulate the annual report.
  • Manage the planning and implementation of MARCOGAZ Tech Forums (webinars) and events.
  • Update and audit MARCOGAZ contact database of subscribers.
  • Liaise and manage agreements with communications-related external providers (such as designers, printers, editors, etc) and media partners.
  • Create synergies with stakeholder communications teams to increase the visibility of MARCOGAZ.


REQUIRED PROFILE:

  • The ideal candidate is a student at Masters level, or a recent graduate in communications, digital marketing, journalism, EU affairs, EU Policy or related fields from a well ranked University.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry, in particular the gas sector is considered as an advantage.
  • Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken) – at C1/C2 level. A second European language is not required but is considered as an advantage.
  • Familiarity with word press, social media management (LinkedIn and Twitter) and Mailchimp.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural office and groups, with positive personality that helps the team achieve the goals and open to occasionally travel within Europe.
  • Ability to work remotely when required, creative and with excellent prioritizing management abilities.


DURATION

The starting date will be, as soon as possible, agreed with the selected candidate and the internship lasts 6 months (with the possibility of extension and/or to be offered fixed job).


OUR OFFER

The internship is paid. We offer an excellent opportunity to learn about the gas industry, network in the Brussels sphere and work in a multicultural environment.

There are two possibilities of the offer:

  • Internship for student: The agreement for student traineeship is to be made between MARCOGAZ, the University of the student and the student.
  • Internship for recent graduates: The contract will be made as a Belgium “Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle (CIP)”.


The offices are located at Rue Belliard 40, 1040 Brussels, and we value remote work. You will be provided with a desk and access to the facilities of MARCOGAZ, including a computer and mobile phone.
