Credit Analyst


To support the Credit team of the Belgian branch of a global captive bank, we are looking for dynamic and motivated team member with relevant and hands-on experience.

As Credit Analyst you are responsible for evaluating the financial health of potential and existing clients to assess creditworthiness and mitigate risk in leasing transactions. This role involves analysing solvency of private individuals, analysing financial statements, reviewing credit reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.


More concretely this means:

  • Assess credit applications from businesses for leasing agreements.
  • Analyse financial statements, credit scores, tax declarations, …
  • Review business credit reports, and financial ratios for corporate applicants.
  • Recommend credit approvals, modifications, or denials based on financial analysis and company risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to explain credit decisions and provide alternative solutions when needed.
  • Monitor existing lease portfolios for corporate clients to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with credit laws and corporate credit policies.
  • Prepare detailed credit reports and risk assessments for senior management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting credit decisions for business.
  • Any other appropriate duties as required by line manager.


Your profile:


Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.


Experience:

- 2+ years of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, or risk assessment (preferably in leasing, banking, or financial services).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in financial modelling and credit risk assessment.

- Knowledge of leasing industry practices and credit evaluation techniques.

- Familiarity with credit rating tools, financial software, and ERP systems.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Maintaining a positive and empathetic attitude, especially under pressure.

- Addressing misunderstandings or misalignments with tact and professionalism.

- Keeping the end-users of financial services (e.g., dealerships, car buyers) in mind

- Can work autonomously

- Excellent team player and collaboration skills

- Result driven and performance mindset

- Motivated and persevering.

- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc)


Language: Fluent in French and Dutch, English is a plus.
