Role: Full Stack Engineer Location: Remote (Belgium-based, Belgian payroll) The Role You'll join a small engineering team building the platform that is changing how multinational tax teams work. You'll work across the full stack, from data-heavy dashboards and complex workflow systems to AI-powered features, alongside our engineering manager and product manager. This is not a ticket factory. You'll have real ownership over what you build and how you build it. What you'll work on A multi-tenant platform serving global enterprise tax teams. A custom-built workflow engine that models compliance and tax processes across jurisdictions. A compliance tracking system covering tax and finance obligations worldwide. An AI assistant that answers tax questions across countries and obligation types. Data-rich dashboards that give tax teams full visibility over their responsibilities. What is Loctax? Loctax, a Tax Systems company, is a collaborative tax governance platform for global in-house tax teams. It helps multinational companies achieve full control over compliance, projects, audits, risks and other tax responsibilities. Who we are We're a remote team of around 10 people (8 engineers, 1 engineering manager, 1 product manager), mostly based in Belgium and the Netherlands. We keep things informal and transparent. We build software that solves complex problems for a niche that's been underserved by technology. We take our craft seriously but don't take ourselves too seriously. We actively use AI tools like Claude Code, CodeRabbit, etc in our daily engineering work, not as a gimmick, but as a real part of how we build, review, and ship software. You have 3+ years of professional experience in full stack or back-end development. You have hands-on experience with and React, or you're confident you can pick them up quickly coming from another stack. You understand how to build and maintain web applications end-to-end. You have a pragmatic approach to engineering: balance code quality, maintainability, and getting things shipped. You're comfortable working in a small team where your contributions have a direct impact. You value code reviews and collaborative development. You're curious about new technologies, including AI-assisted development. Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English. Nice to have Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Experience with GraphQL or What's in it for you?
