The position involves coordinating global research initiatives on environmental and human health impacts of materials and manufacturing processes within a complex, chemistry-intensive industrial value chain connected to the mobility and polymer materials sector.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a candidate with a strong scientific background – ideally holding a PhD or MD in chemistry, chemical engineering or environmental science – and with at least 8 years of experience leading multidisciplinary research projects. It is essential to have the ability to interpret scientific studies related to abrasion emissions, environmental impact of materials and chemical substances, and risk assessment, and to coordinate scientific workstreams involving international partners (consultants, academics, subject-matter experts).

Key responsibilities

  • Lead workstreams focused on environmental and health-related research, managing objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Design and oversee collaborative research projects with international partners.
  • Critically assess methodologies, studies, and results, and translate findings into clear messages for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively contribute to setting research priorities in a key industrial sector for the circular economy and ecological transition.

The context

This is a unique opportunity to work within a global initiative involving leading industrial companies, engaged in collective action toward sustainability across the entire value chain. The role is based in Geneva, with an option to be based in Amsterdam, and requires frequent international travel (up to 50% of the time).

Why apply

  • A strategic role within a high-impact, science-based industrial initiative.
  • Interdisciplinary work in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
  • The opportunity to contribute to global-scale environmental research projects.
