Operations Director - Onsite - Equipment Services

Location: Tielt, Belgium (Full-time on-site, with oversight across Belgium & Netherlands)

Type: Permanent

Compensation: €100,000 – €120,000 base salary

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a market-leading equipment services organisation in the Benelux region to appoint an Operations Director/COO.

This is a newly created executive role following a major ERP migration and facility relocation. The organisation is now entering a critical phase of operational alignment and optimisation. The Operations Director/COO will unify four operational departments - technical service, warehouse, installations, and projects - which currently operate in silos.

This is a hands-on transformation role where success will directly improve customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and recurring revenue performance.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Transformation

• Lead cross-functional process optimisation initiatives
• Eliminate bottlenecks between technical and warehouse operations
• Implement structured continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma or similar)
• Stabilise operations post-ERP implementation

Multi-Functional Operational Leadership

• Lead four department heads across technical, warehouse, installations, and projects
• Align siloed teams into an integrated operational model
• Strengthen collaboration across Belgium and Netherlands operations

Field Service & Technical Operations

• Optimise field engineering and service delivery performance
• Improve SLA adherence, response times, and first-time-fix rates
• Support growth of service contracts and recurring revenue models

Warehouse & Inventory Optimisation

• Improve inventory management and parts availability
• Drive efficiency across multi-site warehouse operations
• Centralise distribution strategy across Belgium and Netherlands

KPI & Performance Management

• Establish and monitor operational KPIs
• Implement structured reporting and dashboards
• Drive accountability and data-driven decision-making

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must Have:

• Proven experience leading operational transformation
• Strong background in field service / technical service operations
• Experience managing warehouse or inventory-driven operations
• Multi-site leadership experience
• Strong stakeholder management and diplomatic leadership style
• Data-driven mindset with KPI ownership
• Fluent in French, Flemish, and English
• Willingness to work on-site full-time

Nice to Have:

• Experience in equipment, industrial services, or capital goods sectors
• ERP experience (Business Central preferred)
• Experience managing long-tenured teams
