Junior Java Automation Tester (Backend)

Our client in the financial sector is looking for a Junior Backend Automation Tester with very strong Java coding skills who wants to specialize in test automation, not application development.

You'll work in a highly technical environment focused on backend-only testing, contributing to a mission-critical financial messaging platform used by global financial institutions.

This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy automation, system-level testing, and working in Agile, cross-functional teams.

️ As a Backend Test Engineer, you will:

• Design and execute backend test cases
• Build and maintain automated test frameworks
• Troubleshoot complex integration and protocol issues
• Work closely with developers, analysts, and internal stakeholders
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Increase automation coverage and optimize testing processes
• Collaborate with other delivery teams
• Support Agile team activities (testing, analysis, occasional development)

What We're Looking For

Education

• Master's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

Technical Skills (Must-Have)

• Very strong Java coding skills (mandatory)
• Automation testing with Selenium & Cucumber
• Backend testing only (no UI / frontend testing)
• Experience or exposure to:
• CI/CD pipelines
• Jenkins
• Unix / Shell scripting
• Maintaining and adapting automation pipelines

Valuable Experience

• Oracle DB, IBM MQ, ElasticSearch
• Git, Maven, Ant
• Docker & Kubernetes
• Jira, Xray, Confluence
• Bitbucket or GitHub

Nice to Have

• Financial messaging standards (FIN, MX, SWIFTNet)
