Full stack Java Developer

We're looking for a seasoned Full Stack Consultant to join our client's team and help build a data-driven web platform that supports policy decision-making in a highly complex regulatory environment. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, large-scale data processing, and analytical decision logic, offering the chance to work on a solution with real societal impact—without exposing any client or program identity.

The role
Our client is developing a new web application designed to analyze large datasets, generate reproducible snapshots, and apply complex business and regulatory rules to support long-term planning and reporting. As a Full Stack Developer, you will translate functional analyses into robust technical solutions, contributing to both backend and frontend development within a modern, cloud-connected architecture.

The platform processes high volumes of structured data (such as CSV inputs), performs analytical workflows and projections, and applies decision logic to produce traceable and auditable outcomes. The technical landscape includes a Java Spring Boot backend, a web frontend, a PostgreSQL database, and integrations with cloud-based data processing services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full stack solutions that meet functional and technical requirements
• Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot, following Test Driven Development principles
• Build and maintain frontend components using modern web technologies
• Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability in close collaboration with peers and end users
• Apply testing strategies including unit and integration testing
• Contribute to and uphold agreed standards, best practices, and Agile ways of working
• Take a leading role within the development team, including coaching and technical guidance

The ideal candidate

• Proven experience with RESTful services and code versioning tools such as Git or similar

• Strong full stack background, including:

• Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, Maven, Test Driven Development

• Frontend: HTML5, JavaScript, Angular, TypeScript

• Solid experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and integration testing

• Hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies, with the ability to take a leading role
• Experience working with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bamboo, Confluence)
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently code, test, debug, and deliver complex programming tasks
• Experience leading development teams and coaching developers
• Language requirement: native-level Dutch proficiency (CEFR C2)
