Internship: Innovation & Entrepreneurship


At In Five Years, we see talent acquisition as the foundation of every successful company. And in tech scale-ups, the very first team often determines whether growth takes off or stalls.


That’s why we help ambitious scale-ups find entrepreneurial talent in engineering, product, and go-to-market roles. Beyond recruitment, we also build our own complementary digital products in the HR space to push the industry forward.


We’re now looking for an Innovation & Entrepreneurship Intern who’s eager to learn the ins and outs of running an entrepreneurial talent agency. This role is a mix of business development, marketing, recruitment support, and process optimization, designed for someone who wants to combine hands-on execution with exposure to the strategic side of building a company.


What you’ll work on


Business development

  • Research and map out interesting startups, scale-ups, and VC-backed companies across BeNeLux.
  • Identify potential leads, partnerships, and communities where we can add value.
  • Experiment with different outreach approaches (LinkedIn, email, events) to initiate first conversations.
  • Support in tracking and following up with prospects to help us grow our client base.
  • Contribute to the business development of our first spin-off, Granger.phd, a global job platform connecting scientific companies with PhD talent eager to tackle complex challenges.


Marketing & Content

  • Help shape our voice towards scale-ups and entrepreneurial talent.
  • Create and experiment with different types of content: from LinkedIn posts to short articles, thought pieces, and portfolio examples.
  • Research and share insights on topics valuable towards the entrepreneurial ecosystem in BeNeLux.
  • Think creatively about how we can position In Five Years more strongly within the tech ecosystem.


Recruitment Support

  • Assist in scouting entrepreneurial candidates for engineering, product, and GTM roles.
  • Explore new ways to identify high-potential talent (e.g. via communities, events, or niche platforms).
  • Support in improving the candidate journey, from first outreach to helping them showcase their portfolio.
  • Gain a behind-the-scenes look at how scale-ups hire, what they look for, and how to match talent with opportunities.


Process Optimization

  • Keep our CRM up to date with uniform data fields.
  • Explore and test new tools to professionalize our internal workflows with, incorporating AI where we can.
  • Spot inefficiencies and suggest improvements to make our work smarter and faster


What you’ll learn

  • Sales coaching: how to approach prospects and build trust.
  • Recruitment know-how: how to scout and engage with entrepreneurial talent for tech scale-ups.
  • Entrepreneurial agency life: daily exposure to building a business alongside the founders.


You’ll work closely with Jeroen and Milan, with daily check-ins and clear responsibility for deliverables.


Who we’re looking for

  • A high-potential profile: driven, entrepreneurial, and eager to learn by doing, passionate about entrepreneurship and scalable businesses.
  • Strong communicator (Dutch is required)
  • Comfortable reaching out to people (sales/recruitment mindset).
  • Organized and curious about startups, scale-ups, and venture capital.
  • Someone with the ambition to one day build their own company, eager to learn what it takes to go from early days to growth.

Practical details

  • Location: Hybrid (Antwerp-based, but remote possible for most tasks).
  • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship, but with direct exposure to client acquisition, sales, and recruitment in the scale-up ecosystem.
