Business Development Manager


We are a leading plastic injection molding company specialising in high-quality, innovative packaging solutions for the food and beverage industry. To accelerate our growth, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to identify and secure new customers, develop market opportunities, and drive long-term business growth.


Role Overview:


As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for expanding our customer base by identifying new business opportunities and building strong relationships with potential clients. Your primary focus will be to drive sales growth through strategic prospecting, market analysis, and commercial negotiations. The ideal candidate has a strong commercial mindset, a hands-on approach, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Business Development & Market Expansion

• Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to expand our customer base in the food and beverage packaging industry.

• Identify and target new business opportunities, actively prospecting and engaging with potential customers.

• Conduct in-depth market research to analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.

• Develop and present compelling sales pitches and proposals that highlight our value proposition.

• Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, production, finance) to develop customized solutions for prospective customers.

• Drive the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and deal closure.


Customer Relationship Management

• Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with potential and new customers.

• Work closely with customers to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.

• Ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts by coordinating with internal departments.

• Act as the primary contact for new customers, addressing concerns and identifying opportunities for future collaboration.


Strategic Contribution & Market Intelligence

• Provide insights into market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to support strategic decision-making.

• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.

• Maintain accurate records of business development activities and sales performance in CRM systems.



Candidate Profile & Qualifications:


• Experience: Minimum 5 years in business development, sales, or a related commercial role, preferably in packaging or plastics industry.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.

• Commercial acumen: Strong negotiation and closing skills with a track record of driving new business.

• Proactive & independent: A self-starter who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and can operate with minimal supervision.

• Eager to learn & go the extra mile: A strong drive to continuously develop, take on challenges, and push boundaries to achieve results.

• Willingness to travel: Flexibility to travel for client meetings, industry events, and trade shows as required.

• Strategic thinker: Ability to identify new opportunities and translate them into actionable business strategies.

• Excellent communicator: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to engage customers at all levels.

• Industry knowledge: Familiarity with injection molding and the packaging industry is an advantage.

• Language skills: Fluent in Dutch and English; additional languages are a plus.

• Tech-savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP systems are a plus.
