The Opportunity

INATBA is seeking a
Senior Policy Officer
to strengthen its strategic engagement with European institutions and stakeholders.

The selected candidate will play a central role in representing INATBA within the European policy ecosystem, engaging with policymakers, regulators, and institutional actors across the EU landscape. While the position does not require permanent residence in Brussels, it does require a
strong, established network within the European Commission and the broader Brussels policy environment
, as well as the ability to maintain regular in-person engagement when needed.

This role offers the opportunity to shape European policy conversations on digital trust, blockchain, and emerging technologies at a critical moment for Europe's regulatory and innovation agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as INATBA's primary liaison with EU institutions, policymakers, and Brussels-based stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyse EU regulatory and legislative developments relevant to blockchain, digital identity, AI, and emerging technologies.
• Represent INATBA in institutional dialogues, high-level meetings, and public policy forums.
• Support the development of position papers, consultation responses, and strategic communications.
• Facilitate engagement between INATBA members and European policymakers.
• Contribute to the coordination of EU-related initiatives and consortium activities.
• Support organizational development efforts, including stakeholder engagement and membership growth.

Profile & Experience

We are looking for a senior professional with:

• 4+ years of experience
  in EU policy, public affairs, regulatory affairs, or institutional engagement.
• An established and trusted network within the European Commission, EU agencies, and the broader Brussels policy ecosystem.
• Demonstrated ability to secure high-level meetings and facilitate institutional dialogue.
• Experience representing organizations in high-level policy environments.
• Strong understanding of EU legislative processes and multistakeholder dialogue frameworks.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Fluency in English (additional EU languages are an asset).

Experience in blockchain, digital innovation, financial regulation, digital identity, AI, or emerging technologies is highly desirable.

Additional Desired Capabilities

While not required, the following capabilities would be considered strong assets:

• Experience in strategic planning and organizational leadership within associations, NGOs, or innovation-driven ecosystems.
• Familiarity with governance structures, board-level interaction, and stakeholder coordination.
• Experience overseeing operational priorities and aligning policy strategy with organizational growth objectives.
• Exposure to EU-funded projects and consortium coordination.
• Capacity to contribute to membership development and institutional positioning.
