Job Offer – HSE Specialist
Role Description
For an important project in the construction sector, we are looking for an experienced HSE Specialist who will ensure the proper implementation of health, safety, environmental, and sustainability regulations on site.
The selected candidate will report directly to the Site HSE Manager and will play an operational and coordination role, actively contributing to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the company's HSE management system.
Main Responsibilities
Verify the effective implementation of existing HSE procedures prior to the start of site activities.
Review and contribute to the update of corporate system documentation and/or documentation provided by the client, necessary to ensure compliance with health and safety obligations (drafting minutes, completing safety check forms, monitoring PPE usage, etc.).
Supervise the correct application by workers of all corporate procedures and safety, environmental, and sustainability regulations.
Contribute to the collection of site data required to monitor the effectiveness of the Health, Safety and Environment management system.
Coordinate regularly with the Site HSE Manager, participating in ongoing meetings and reporting on assigned activities.
Support the communication and promotion of HSE and corporate sustainability policies (awards, incentives, meetings, inspections, reporting, and internal communications).
Check the conformity of equipment in accordance with company system requirements and applicable technical regulations.
Promote the proper and continuous maintenance of temporary installations to ensure suitable working conditions.
Provide support in planning and delivering corporate safety and environmental information and training sessions.
As part of the above-mentioned activities, and according to the instructions of the responsible contact person, the employee will also be responsible for:
Managing and storing hard-copy documentation related to safety, environmental, and sustainability records;
Managing the site IT archive in accordance with the specifications provided by the Site HSE Manager.
Requirements
High school diploma, preferably in technical studies;
Valid ASPP (Prevention and Protection Service Officer) qualification;
At least 3 years of experience in the construction sector, specifically in HSE site supervision;
Strong knowledge of applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation;
Good command of written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge of regulated management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, SA 8000, etc.);
Additional HSE-related certifications;
VOL VCA qualification;
Qualification as an Auditor of regulated management systems;
Knowledge of additional foreign languages;
Previous experience in turnaround and maintenance works within process plant environments.
