.NET developer

Freelance .NET Developer (Backend) – Hybrid – Antwerp

Start: March '26 (long term project) │ Location: Based in Antwerp (Hybrid) │ Senior (10+ years)

We are looking for a Senior .NET Developer to join a hybrid development environment working on modernization and integration initiatives in the Antwerp region. You will focus on backend development in .NET, while supporting system optimizations, technical analyses, and code reviews. You will help deliver stable, high-quality applications within a complex IT landscape.

Responsibilities

• Develop software in .NET (C#)

• Work on decommissioning, changes and optimizations

• Perform code reviews (mainly web technologies)

• Maintain and improve existing .NET Framework applications

• Execute component and integration tests

• Prepare technical documentation and technical analyses

• Provide 3rd line support

• Participate in sprint meetings and demo sessions

• Conduct independent technical research

Required Expertise

• Extensive experience with .NET (C#), with a strong backend focus (min. 10 years of relevant experience)

• Strong knowledge of:

o Windows Services

o WCF / SOAP

o T-SQL and stored procedures

o XML, JSON, REST, WSDL

o Client-server architectures

• Experience hosting and managing applications in IIS 10

• Experience developing and deploying Windows Services

• Solid background in object-oriented design and relational database modelling

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git and SoapUI

• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments

• Experience collaborating with offshore teams
