Associate Director / Director – Emerging Technology Policy

Forefront Advisers is a fast-growing political intelligence and regulatory advisory firm, supporting leading investors and public affairs professionals across Europe and the UK. Founded in 2021, we specialise in forward-looking analysis and strategic insight into the political and regulatory developments shaping markets, with a focus on high-impact sectors at the heart of economic transformation. Technology policy is at the core of our work, cutting across issues of global competitiveness, innovation, and security.

As an Associate Director or Director, you will play a leadership role in shaping and delivering our technology policy advisory offer. You will bring deep subject-matter expertise, exceptional analytical and communication skills, and the ability to advise senior stakeholders with clarity and authority. This is a senior opportunity to influence one of our highest-impact practice areas at a time of rapid growth for the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Policy Insight and Advisory Leadership

  • Monitor and interpret key political, legislative, and regulatory developments in EU technology policy across areas such as AI, cybersecurity, data governance, digital infrastructure, and competition.
  • Deliver incisive, client-ready analysis and strategic insight tailored to the needs of investors, corporates, and public affairs professionals.
  • Lead and grow senior advisory relationships, acting as a trusted partner to C-suite and senior stakeholders.

Practice and Product Development

  • Drive the development of our technology policy offer, including analytical frameworks, content strategy, and advisory formats.
  • Collaborate across practice areas to integrate insights across geopolitics, economic security, energy, digital finance, and macro-political risk.
  • Contribute to Forefront’s strategic direction through internal leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Stakeholder Engagement and Network Building

  • Maintain and expand a strong policy network in Brussels and across EU institutions, think tanks, and key stakeholder organisations.
  • Represent Forefront Advisers in client meetings, industry briefings, and high-level policy discussions.

Your Experience & Knowledge

  • Significant subject-matter expertise in EU technology policy—such as AI, digital trade, competition, cybersecurity, privacy, or economic security.
  • Deep understanding of EU policymaking and regulatory processes, with the ability to translate complexity into actionable advice.
  • A strong Brussels network, with stakeholder relationships across institutions, associations, and policy circles.
  • Outstanding analytical and writing skills, with the ability to deliver crisp, high-quality work under pressure.
  • Commercial and strategic acumen with experience advising senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach with the desire to shape a growing business.
  • Experience working in an advisory, public affairs, or regulatory environment.
  • Fluency in English is essential; other European languages are a plus.

We Offer

  • Competitive compensation including base salary, performance bonus, and benefits.
  • The opportunity to lead and shape a flagship policy advisory offer in a dynamic and scaling business.
  • A flexible hybrid working model, with collaboration across Brussels and London teams.
  • A high-performing, intellectually rigorous culture that values insight, initiative, and creativity.
  • Offices in central Brussels and London, with regular opportunities for travel and client engagement.
