Our client is looking for an
experienced Application / Cloud Architect
with deep
Java expertise
to support a major public health and food safety institution in Brussels. This is a
long-term mission
contributing to strategic
eHealth and Digital Infrastructure
initiatives across the EU.
Context
You'll join the
Information Systems Unit
, responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating digital solutions supporting European health and food safety policies. Projects include the
eHealth Digital Service Infrastructure (eHDSI)
, enabling cross-border health information exchange (Patient Summary, ePrescription, etc.) across Member States.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Analyse and integrate diverse information systems
- Data analysis and modelling
- Coordinate implementation of technical architecture
- Act as technical interface between project leads and developers
- Produce architecture documentation and blueprints
- Participate in working groups, progress & user meetings
- Support testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment and reporting
- Design and develop
cloud architecture components
and migration strategies - Review and modernise existing systems to enable
cloud solutions
Required Expertise
- 14+ years
in
application design - 14+ years
in
Java development - 14+ years
working with
Relational DBMS - 10+ years
in
architecture best practices & patterns - 8+ years
in
interoperability technologies
(web services, message middleware, SOA, event architecture) - 6+ years
in
business process analysis - 2+ years
in
cloud architecture & microservices - 2+ years
with
modelling tools - Knowledge of
FHIR / CDA
standards in the medical domain is a plus
Certifications (Optional but a Plus)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Professional Cloud Architect
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP)
Additional Details
- Hybrid / Remote
– Must be able to reach Brussels within 2 hours when needed - Laptop provided
- Occasional travel may be required (mostly Brussels).
