WE LOOK FOR

We look for an
IT Security Officer
to serve as
Service Owner for the EU Restricted Communication (RESCOM) system
, overseeing its implementation and continuous improvement. The role involves managing project execution, coordinating with stakeholders, institutions, and external providers, and handling acquisition processes for system components.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Act as a Service Owner for the EU Restricted Communication (RESCOM) system.
• Manage and control the execution of all related projects.
• Lead on the continuous improvement of the solution.
• Liaise with stakeholders and with external solution providers.
• Liaise with institutions (e.g. partners with whom the EEAS is planning to implement an interconnection).
• Manage the acquisition process for additional components.
• Prepare the documentation required for the security accreditation of the system and its interconnections.
• Be responsible for certain special operational activities related to the area of expertise.

Apart from the main responsibilities, the successful candidate will also have an active role in various activities within the Division depending on the ongoing activities/ projects where contribution is required.

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO are an asset.
• Proven experience in the management, design, and operation of systems handling classified information.
• Familiarity with the legal requirements and the processes of security accreditation of systems handling EU Classified Information (EUCI).
• Very good overall understanding of secure IT infrastructure design principles and risk management frameworks.
• Ability to work independently, manage complex projects, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, institutions, and external providers.
• Ability to maintain diplomatic relations and to ensure representation and communication in a complex, multicultural environment.
• Strong drafting and analytical skills combined with sound judgement.
• Ability to communicate clearly on complex issues and the capacity to perform with accuracy and in a flexible manner a diversity of tasks in a complex institutional environment.
• Service-oriented mindset, flexibility to perform diverse tasks, and strong teamwork skills.
• Flexible team player.

Furthermore:

• Experience of working in a team in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.
• Experience in working with or within other EU institutions.
• An existing or previous security clearance for SECRET UE/EU SECRET.
