Overview: Lead of IT Security
As the Lead of IT Security, you will be instrumental in evolving our Security Operations Team. You’ll assess current capabilities and, working with technical experts, create a roadmap to elevate team maturity. Your deep expertise in Security Incident Response, Vulnerability & Patch Management, Configuration Management, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) will shape the foundation of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT Security teams to enhance the overall security posture through robust processes and procedures.
- Define governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and resource plans to support team evolution.
- Foster strong relationships across IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Security to enable seamless integration and cooperation.
- Serve as CSIRT Lead during high-priority security incidents.
- Lead and contribute to strategic security projects aimed at elevating operational maturity.
- Identify IT-related risks across business processes and implement measures to reduce them to acceptable levels.
- Measure, track, and report on the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage daily follow-up of security incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
- Support internal and external security audit activities.
- Conduct risk assessments for policy exceptions and advise corrective actions.
- Log and analyse security events (e.g., malware, DDoS, data breaches), initiating preventive or corrective action.
- Develop and maintain dashboards that provide a comprehensive view across security domains.
- Partner with HR and other departments to drive awareness and education around IT security best practices.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree with substantial IT Security experience is also acceptable.
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, including hands-on leadership.
- Strong technical proficiency in IT Security domains—capable of guiding and challenging technical leads.
- Preferably holds CISSP and/or CISM certifications.
- Familiar with frameworks such as ISO 27000 and NIST SP 800‑53.
- Self‑driven, proactive, and able to work independently with a solution‑oriented mindset.
- Up-to-date with the latest security technologies and standards.
- Fluent in Dutch or French, and English (one as primary, the others at a good working level).
- Knowledge of financial regulatory frameworks and DORA is a plus.
- A collaborative team player with strong communication, analytical, and motivational skills—resilient under stress and deadline‑driven.
- Flexible and adaptable to evolving circumstances.
- Experience with security tools across both application and infrastructure domains (e.g., Sentinel, ServiceNow, Jira).
